Getting Started at Fidelis: The Investment Minimums and Timeline

By John Lloyd, CEO, Fidelis Private Fund

When investors first hear about the stability and predictability of private debt’s Fixed Income, two common fears arise: The Exclusion Barrier (“Will I be excluded if I don’t have millions?”) and The Illiquidity Trap (“Will my money be locked up for five years?”).

These are fair questions. As your partner, my goal is to provide Jargon-Free Clarity immediately.

The Simple Truth: Parameters for Stability

Here are the facts for the Fidelis Private Fund:

  • Minimum Investment: $50,000.
  • Initial Commitment Period: 1 Year.

We set these parameters with intention. The dollar amount is high enough to ensure our capital is serious and committed, yet accessible for accredited investors looking to add a non-correlated asset. We are building Relationship-Driven partnerships, starting with feasibility.

The Fidelis Approach: Why Commitment Matters

The one-year commitment is the critical part of this equation, directly relating to fund stability and principal protection.

We are a Direct Portfolio Lender funding short-term commercial real estate construction and bridge loans. These are real-world projects that take time. The 12-month period allows us to maintain the stability required to confidently fund borrower draws and fulfill our loan obligations.

This process of matching our capital commitment with our loan obligations protects the integrity of the entire fund. It’s a rule designed not to trap your money, but to ensure the consistent, reliable performance of the collateral pool backing your investment.

Liquidity: After the initial 12-month commitment, liquidity becomes available through quarterly redemption windows. This structure manages expectations and mitigates the anxiety of permanent illiquidity. Our unwavering focus remains on Capital Preservation.
