The Fidelis “No Fee” Philosophy

By John Lloyd, CEO, Fidelis Private Fund

When I sit down with new investors, a question that often comes up is “what are fees to invest”. In the investment world, there is often a massive gap between the “advertised” return and what actually lands in your bank account. You are right to be suspicious of hidden costs eating into your profits.

At Fidelis, we’ve eliminated that friction. Here is the straight answer on how we handle fees and your bottom line.

Zero Cost to Invest

The most important distinction between Fidelis and many other private funds is this: Fidelis does not charge investors a fee for investing capital. Unlike “load funds” or platforms that take a percentage off the top just to let you in the door, 100% of your capital goes to work for you from day one. We don’t charge acquisition fees, disposition fees, or complicated entry costs.

How the Math Works (The Borrower Pays, Not You)

You might wonder: If I’m not paying the fees, who is? Remember your role—you are the bank. Just like a traditional bank, the “fees” are paid by the borrower. Our fund generates income through loan origination fees and interest paid by the borrowers we lend to.

We charge a standard asset management fee to the fund to cover operations, but that is paid out of the fund’s gross income—not out of your pocket or your principal.

“Net is Net”

The most important thing to understand is how we report your results. The returns we report are always net returns.

If we state an annualized return of 8% or 9%, that is the money ending up in your account. The management fee has already been accounted for. We don’t dangle a high “gross” number in front of you and then chip away at it with fine print. Our success is tied to providing you with a stable, predictable, and realized net return.

The Bottom Line

You shouldn’t need a calculator and a lawyer to figure out your actual profit. At Fidelis, there are no fees to join and the reported returns are the returns you keep. No surprises. No “gotchas.”

Let’s Clear the Air

If you’ve been burned by hidden fees in the past, I want to invite you to call me directly. I believe the best partnerships start with a simple conversation—no pressure, just clarity.
